Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Libertyville walked away with it. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Prospect Knights a 1-0 shutout on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won six games in a row.

The result came thanks to Josh Holst's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Libertyville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Lockwood, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Libertyville pushed their record up to 32-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Prospect, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-12-1.

As of now, neither Libertyville nor the Knights have any future games scheduled.
