Soccer Game Preview: Norwich Free Academy vs. Woodstock Academy

The Norwich Free Academy Wildcats will head out to take on the Woodstock Academy Centaurs at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Norwich Free Academy faced off against Bacon Academy on Friday. The Wildcats came up short against the Bobcats, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Norwich Free Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut soccer rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Bacon Academy are ranked fourth).

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Woodstock Academy and Waterford, and Woodstock Academy kept the tradition alive. The Centaurs never let the Lancers get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Friday. Woodstock Academy have beaten Waterford the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Waterford has come to flipping the script.

Norwich Free Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-4-1. As for Woodstock Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4-1.

Norwich Free Academy couldn't quite get it done against Woodstock Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
