Recap: Wenonah Dragons vs. Minor Tigers
The Wenonah Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Minor by a score of 59-56. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wenonah in their matchups with Minor: they've now lost four in a row.
Minor got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Mcclain out in front who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Mcclain has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Chatman, who scored 14 points along with 8 rebounds.
Wenonah has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Minor, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Wenonah will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Midfield at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Midfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Saturday. As for Minor, they will head out on the road to face off against Cornerstone at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornerstone will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 256th, while Minor is ranked 85th).
