Baseball Recap: Roanoke Catholic Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against The Covenant School, Roanoke Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Faith Christian Academy Lions by a score of 10-5. The victory continues a trend for the Celtics in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won three in a row.

Ryan Masri made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Roanoke Catholic is 2-1 when he allows at most one hit, but 4-9 otherwise. Masri was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan King, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Harper Sawyer, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Roanoke Catholic's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Faith Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

As of now, neither Roanoke Catholic nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
