Basketball Game Preview: Oak Grove Eagles vs. Evergreen Valley Cougars

The Oak Grove Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Evergreen Valley Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Oak Grove sitting on four straight victories and Evergreen Valley on five.

On Wednesday, Oak Grove didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Ann Sobrato, but they still walked away with a 57-53 win.

Meanwhile, Evergreen Valley beat Gilroy 53-44 on Wednesday. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 561st, while the Mustangs are ranked 1169th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Evergreen Valley has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Oak Grove, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-9.

Oak Grove came up short against Evergreen Valley when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 50-45. Can Oak Grove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
