Basketball Recap: North Brunswick Beats Topsail for Their Third Straight Win

North Brunswick extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Kane Jenrette. In a tight match that could have gone either way, the North Brunswick Scorpions made off with a 72-71 victory over the Topsail Pirates thanks in part to Jenrette, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played.

Topsail's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rhett Britt, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Britt a new career-high in steals (five). Duron Vaughn was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 23 points and nine boards.

North Brunswick's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8. As for Topsail, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.

North Brunswick has already played their next game (against Jacksonville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Topsail will take on Ashley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ashley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season.
