Basketball Recap: Furlow Charter School Comes Up Short on the Road Against Central

Furlow Charter School had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 90-42 loss at the hands of the Central Hawks. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite the loss, Furlow Charter School still got an impressive performance from Calvin Davis, who shot 40% from the field en route to 23 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Riley Thompkins, who posted eight points.

Central was led to victory by Brannon Bussey and Brody Leonard. Bussey earned 23 points, while Leonard had 20 points. Those 20 points gave Leonard a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Quan Wilson, who put up 12 points.

Coming up, Furlow Charter School will look to takes advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Central Georgia Arts at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Jordan at 12:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
