Recap: Heritage Christian Eagles vs. Nazarene Christian Academy Lions
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Heritage Christian Eagles can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Nazarene Christian Academy on Friday, falling 76-30. Heritage Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-22.
It was another big night for Dominic Johnson, who rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, and also picked up 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Carlos Canelos was another key contributor, gaining 113 total yards and four touchdowns.
This is the second loss in a row for Heritage Christian and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Nazarene Christian Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
Heritage Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Nazarene Christian Academy will take on Azle Christian at TBD on Saturday. Azle Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
