Football Recap: Marlboro Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Marlboro and Brick Memorial squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Marlboro had to settle for second. They were beaten by Brick Memorial 57-7. Marlboro was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-0.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brick Memorial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jason Lajara, who threw for 80 yards and three TDs on perfect 6-for-6 passing, and also rushed for 34 yards. Lajara's passing game has become a key predictor of Brick Memorial's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Nyzier Matthews was in the mix as well, providing Brick Memorial with two touchdowns.

Marlboro dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Brick Memorial, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Marlboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brick Memorial, they will square off against Steinert at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
