Baseball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Mountain View's offense. They lost 6-0 to the South El Monte Eagles on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

ADAM ALCANTAR spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for South El Monte, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will host Gabrielino at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South El Monte, they will welcome Arroyo at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
