Recap: Whitehall-Yearling Rams vs. Buckeye Valley Barons
After soaring to 35 points the game before, The Whitehall-Yearling Rams were a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They took a hard 23-7 fall against Buckeye Valley. Whitehall-Yearling lost against Buckeye Valley in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 14-13 score last time.
Buckeye Valley found their leader in underclassman Malakhi Ross, who rushed for 175 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.7 yards per carry.
Whitehall-Yearling's loss was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 13-1 Harvest Prep and 9-1 Bishop Ready (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 70.4% over those games). As for Buckeye Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-5.
Whitehall-Yearling does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Buckeye Valley will head out on the road to face off against Tri-Valley at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Tri-Valley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
