Basketball Game Preview: Edwardsburg Eddies vs. Mattawan Wildcats

The Edwardsburg Eddies will head out on the road to square off against the Mattawan Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Edwardsburg was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 33-29 to Vicksburg. The Eddies haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Meanwhile, Mattawan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-38 heartbreaker at the hands of Portage Northern.

Edwardsburg's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Mattawan, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.

Edwardsburg came up short against Mattawan when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 46-36. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mattawan's Delaney Elsmore, who posted 19 points and eight boards.
