Softball Recap: Lee Beats Floyd Central for Their Fourth Straight Win

Lee had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Floyd Central Jaguars.

Addison Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lee saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madison Galloway, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two runs gave Galloway a new career-high. Hailee Ewing also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Lee now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Floyd Central, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-3.

Lee has already played their next matchup, a 7-1 victory against Hopewell-Loudon on the 4th. As for Floyd Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-0 loss against Hendersonville on the 4th.
