Basketball Recap: Harmony Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Lincoln Smith and Jaden Smith

The Harmony Longhorns opened the new year with a less-than-successful 44-35 defeat to the Lake Mary Rams. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while the Rams are ranked 96th).

Jaden Smith and Lincoln Smith certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Jaden posted seven points and seven rebounds, while Lincoln scored eight points. Lincoln has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Roberto Rodriguez III was another key player, putting up four points and five steals.

Harmony dropped their record down to 6-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Lake Mary, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Harmony has already played their next matchup, a 69-51 win against Gateway on the 7th. As for Lake Mary, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-41 victory against University on the 7th.
