Football Recap: Huntley Beats Highland Park for Their Fifth Straight Win

Huntley waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Highland Park Giants 21-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Red Raiders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 49th, while the Giants are ranked 166th).

Huntley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lyla Ginczycki, who threw for 212 yards and three TDs on perfect 9-for-9 passing. The dominant performance also gave Ginczycki a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Evelyn Freundt was another key receiver, picking up 124 receiving yards and one score.

Huntley's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Highland Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Huntley will face off against Barrington at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Fillies/Broncos' defense has only allowed 11.5 points per game this season, so the Red Raiders' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Highland Park, they will head out on the road to square off against Maine West at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
