Baseball Recap: Evergreen Takes a Loss

Evergreen fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Cedarcrest on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Wolves. The Wolverines' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Evergreen saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kevin Martinez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played. Darin Ouk also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Evergreen's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Cedarcrest, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Evergreen didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-2 loss against Interlake on the 28th. As for Cedarcrest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-2 win against Renton on the 28th.
