Baseball Recap: Richland Takes a Loss

Richland and Newton County squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Richland had to settle for second. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 7-1. The Rangers have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Richland's loss dropped their record down to 10-19. As for Newton County, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-13 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Newton County beat Richland by a score of 7-1 later that day.
