Baseball Recap: Orange Park Comes Up Short

Orange Park fell victim to Beachside and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Barracudas, falling 16-0. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Raiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Orange Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrihan Marty, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Orange Park has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. Beachside's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orange Park will venture away from home to take on First Coast at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orange Park is facing First Coast at the right time seeing as First Coast is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Beachside, they will head out to face off against West Nassau at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Nassau's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Beachside's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
