Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Canevin Crusaders vs. Clairton Bears

For the second straight game, Bishop Canevin will face off against Clairton. The Crusaders will be playing at home against the Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Bishop Canevin's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Clairton 15-0. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Brady Wagner and Layne Gerba were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Wagner pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Gerba didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. At bat, Wagner went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Gerba went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Wagner is becoming a predictor of Bishop Canevin's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't).
