Basketball Game Preview: Western Branch Bruins vs. King's Fork Bulldogs

The Western Branch Bruins are taking a road trip to face off against the King's Fork Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Western Branch has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while King's Fork will arrive with six straight victories.

Last Friday, Western Branch came up short against Nansemond River and fell 76-67. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (65), the Bruins still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for King's Fork against Atlantic Shores Christian on Monday as the squad secured a 64-32 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 32 points or more this season.

King's Fork pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.5 points per game. As for Western Branch, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Western Branch might still be hurting after the 75-54 loss they got from King's Fork in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Western Branch avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
