Baseball Game Preview: Archbishop Mitty Monarchs vs. Bellarmine College Prep Bells

For the second straight game, Archbishop Mitty will face off against Bellarmine College Prep. The Monarchs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Bells at 4:00 p.m. Archbishop Mitty is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Archbishop Mitty came into this matchup off a tough ten-run loss on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Bellarmine College Prep by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Monarchs have suffered since April 19, 2024.

For Bellarmine College Prep's part, Apolo Lapiz tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Lapiz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Vincent Kim was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ollie McNamara, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Bellarmine College Prep now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Archbishop Mitty, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.
