Howells-Dodge extended their winning streak to eight on Friday, bumping them up to 8-0. They came out on top against the Archangels Catholic Defenders by a score of 40-32. This was payback for the Jaguars, who suffered a 24-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Hunter Luther had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024. Dane Meyer was in the mix too, providing Howells-Dodge with two scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Howells-Dodge was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 246 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 169 rushing yards in 11 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Archangels Catholic fell to 7-1. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Ethan Wieseler and Gavin Geilenkirchen certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Wieseler rushed for 54 yards and two TDs, while Geilenkirchen gained 121 total yards and a touchdown.

Howells-Dodge and Archangels Catholic are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Jaguars will take on Hyannis at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Howells-Dodge will be up against the Longhorns' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Archangels Catholic, they will square off against Weeping Water at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
