Baseball Recap: Cherokee Trail Drops Season-High Score on Mullen

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cherokee Trail). They put the hurt on the Mullen Mustangs with a sharp 13-1 victory on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won five in a row.

Cherokee Trail got a great performance from Connor Carlson as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Carlson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Landon Olds and Brody Ceyrolles did most of the damage at the plate: Olds went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Ceyrolles went 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Cherokee Trail is undefeated when Olds posts three or more hits, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brody Kenshalo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
