Softball Recap: Long Beach Poly Sets Scoring Season-High Against Jordan

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Long Beach Poly). They never let the Jordan Panthers get on the board and left with a 33-0 victory on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Jackrabbits needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Bella Correa made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs while going 6-for-6.

In other batting news, Emoni Lam Sam was a standout: she went 4-for-6 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kween Tauala, who went a perfect 6-for-6 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Long Beach Poly hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Long Beach Poly has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Jordan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.
