Flag Football Game Preview: Palmer Terrors vs. Coronado Cougars

The Palmer Terrors will head out on the road to square off against the Coronado Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Palmer has five straight victories, Coronado has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Palmer's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 19-0 win over Colorado Springs Christian.

Noa Harrison had a dynamite game, rushing for 115 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 117 yards and one TD.

Palmer didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Colorado Springs Christian to a completion percentage of just 26.3%. The Terrors weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 34.6%.

Palmer's defense didn't let Tashyla Johnson, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Kennedy Berry, Lailah Ingram, and Destiny Johnson, who each picked up one sack apiece. Berry was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making nine total tackles.

Meanwhile, Coronado took a blow against The Classical Academy on Tuesday, falling 48-7. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado flag football rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Titans are ranked seventh).

Palmer's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Things could have been worse for Palmer, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 25-6 loss to Coronado in their previous matchup back in August. Can the Terrors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
