Basketball Recap: West Carroll Comes Up Short

West Carroll lost against Warren back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The game between the West Carroll Thunder and the Warren Warriors didn't end well, with the West Carroll Thunder falling 68-52. While losing is never fun, the Thunder can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 678th, while the Warriors are ranked 278th).

Warren's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bryce VanRaalte, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 18 rebounds. VanRaalte's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Treyton Pafford was another key player, putting up 25 points along with six boards and four steals.

West Carroll has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Warren, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

West Carroll will welcome Scales Mound at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Warren, they will challenge River Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. River Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.6 points per game this season.
