Football Recap: Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Comes Up Short

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy was the 27-21 winner over Willcox when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans had to suffer through a 48-14 loss at the hands of the Cowboys.

Will Ryken and Braxton Whittington certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Ryken rushed for 38 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Whittington picked up 142 receiving yards. Whittington also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Willcox, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy will face off against Madison Highland Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Willcox, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Desert Christian at 7:00 p.m.
