Softball Recap: Edisto's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Barnwell, Edisto was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Lake Marion Gators get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four matchups by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Mallory Garrick and Amariyah Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Garrick scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Johnson went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. What's more, Johnson posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Cierra Hannibal, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Edisto always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Edisto moved to 5-7 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Lake Marion, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Coming up, Edisto will head out to face off against Bamberg-Ehrhardt at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Marion will be paying especially close attention to the Cougars' contest: after the Cougars faces off against the Red Raiders, they'll take on Lake Marion again at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
