Recap: Strom Thurmond Rebels vs. Fox Creek Predators

The Strom Thurmond Rebels posted their biggest win since November 14, 2023 on Tuesday. They blew past Fox Creek 60-19 at home. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Strom Thurmond also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

Katlyn Chinn continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sunasia Saxon, who scored 18 points.

Several Predators players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sofia Kryshtalowych, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and three steals. Kryshtalowych is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Fox Creek struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Strom Thurmond pulled down 17 offensive rebounds.

Strom Thurmond is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Fox Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Strom Thurmond's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Batesburg-Leesville at 6:15 p.m. on January 26th. Batesburg-Leesville is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Fox Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Silver Bluff at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Silver Bluff will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.
