Preview: Durango Trailblazers vs. Canyon Springs Pioneers
The Durango Trailblazers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Canyon Springs Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Durango is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
Last Saturday, things could have been worse for Durango, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-43 loss to Lancaster. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Durango came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 68th in Nevada, while Lancaster is ranked 423rd in California).
Despite their loss, Durango saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Amia McKinney, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McKinney has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amarie Riley, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Canyon Springs strolled past Basic with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 63-45.
Durango's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Canyon Springs, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.
