Baseball Recap: Borah Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Borah nor Mountain View made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Lions came up short against the Mavericks, falling 7-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lions have suffered since May 8, 2024.

Brady Robinson put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Borah has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain View, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-7.
