Basketball Recap: Alpaugh Comes Up Short

Alpaugh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 93-23 loss at the hands of the Kings Christian Crusaders. The Buffalos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-10.

Carlos Hernandez was Alpaugh's leading scorer, having posted six points. David Loera held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Kings Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Andrew Ortega led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten steals. Ortega is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elyas Miro, who went 8 for 13 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven boards and six assists.

Alpaugh's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Kings Christian, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.

Alpaugh has already played their next contest, a 74-28 loss against Wonderful College Prep Academy on the 17th. As for Kings Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-31 win against Laton on the 17th.
