Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Copperas Cove's 12th in Last 15 Outings

It's playoff time, and Copperas Cove had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Mesquite Skeeters on Saturday. The Bulldawgs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by seven runs or more this season.

Gabrielle Wilson was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Laila LaCapra, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Copperas Cove has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Mesquite, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-16-1.

As of now, neither Copperas Cove nor the Skeeters have any future games scheduled.
