Preview: Circle Thunderbirds vs. Augusta Orioles
Circle has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Augusta Orioles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Saturday, Circle came up short against Labette County and fell 45-37. The loss was Circle's first of the season.
Meanwhile, Augusta's seven-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They came out on top against Abilene by a score of 40-33.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Augusta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ella Bourm, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Maeve Fleming, who scored six points.
Circle's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-1. As for Augusta, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Circle beat Augusta 45-37 in their previous meeting back in February. Does Circle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Augusta turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
