Baseball Game Preview: Person Rockets vs. Southern Alamance Patriots

The Person Rockets will venture away from home to face off against the Southern Alamance Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Person barely beat Orange the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Person put the hurt on Orange with a sharp 11-1 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rockets.

Brady Holmes was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Norris, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Holmes wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Person lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Southern Alamance, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Chatham Central a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their two-run performance the match before.

Southern Alamance's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Person, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Everything went Person's way against Southern Alamance in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Person made off with a 13-7 win. Will Person repeat their success, or does Southern Alamance has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
