Volleyball Recap: Cheraw Takes a Loss

Cheraw lost against Anson back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Braves lost 3-0 to the Bearcats. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-12, 25-14.

Despite the loss, Cheraw still got an impressive performance from Londyn Driggers, who had 23 digs and one assist. Driggers is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 21 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Anson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hannah Austin, who had 14 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Austin has posted over her last six matchups. Another player making a difference was Emma Beam, who had ten digs and three aces.

Cheraw's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Anson, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-2.

Cheraw has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against North Central on the 2nd. As for Anson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Monroe on the 6th.
