Baseball Game Preview: Concord Bears vs. Miramonte Matadors

For the second straight game, Concord will face off against Miramonte. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Matadors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Concord has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 1.

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Concord and Miramonte, and Miramonte kept the tradition alive. The Bears came up short against the Matadors on Tuesday, falling 10-4.

For Miramonte's part, the team relied heavily on Preston Rguem, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave Rguem a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Casey Yung, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Miramonte was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

With the victory, Miramonte broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-15. As for Concord, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.
