Basketball Recap: Benton Comes Up Short

Benton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-34 heartbreaker at the hands of the Airline Vikings. The Tigers lost against the Vikings in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 66-29 score last time.

Benton's loss dropped their record down to 17-21. As for Airline, their victory bumped their record up to 18-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benton will welcome Evangel Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Benton is facing Evangel Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Evangel Christian Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Airline, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Natchitoches Central at 7:30 p.m.
