Baseball Recap: Harvest Christian Academy Gets the Win

Harvest Christian Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the South Beloit Sobos 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since May 3, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Obed Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Eddy Figueroa, Jr also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Harvest Christian Academy's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6. As for South Beloit, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

Harvest Christian Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Sobos: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
