On Monday, Bellevue faced Lakeside in a battle between two of the state's top teams. 2025 welcomed the Bellevue Wolverines with a 60-39 loss courtesy of the Lakeside Lions. The Wolverines' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Despite the defeat, Bellevue saw an underclassman step up: freshman Dilynn Johnson posted ten points along with six boards and three steals. Johnson has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauryn Keilman, who earned five points and six rebounds.

Bellevue's loss dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Lakeside, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Bellevue has already played their next game, a 55-51 win against Liberty on the 8th. As for Lakeside, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 61-33 victory against Lincoln on the 8th.
