Softball Recap: Casa Grande Snags 12th Win in Last 13 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Casa Grande had no problem doing just that on Friday. They skirted past the San Ramon Valley Wolves 3-2. That's two games straight that the Gauchos have won by just one run.

Lila Partridge spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

Casa Grande has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for San Ramon Valley, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-8-2.

Coming up, Casa Grande is taking a road trip to take on Livermore at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Gauchos 2.1, the Cowboys 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. San Ramon Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
