Football Game Preview: Elmwood Royals vs. Arlington Red Devils

The Elmwood Royals will head out to square off against the Arlington Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Elmwood nor Arlington posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Elmwood is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Pandora-Gilboa on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Royals were outmatched by the Rockets and fell 45-8. The loss continues a trend for the Royals in their meetings with the Rockets: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Arlington suffered their biggest defeat since October 11, 2024 on Friday. They took a blow against Liberty-Benton, falling 56-13. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Eagles are ranked 145th).

Arlington's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Elmwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Elmwood was taken down by Arlington 63-26 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Royals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
