Giddings had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They strolled past the Austin Achieve Polar Bears with points to spare, taking the game 66-51. The Buffaloes haven't had any issues with the Polar Bears recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Austin Achieve's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Braylon Groce, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 19 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, and Wilmer Romero, who posted 18 points and five rebounds. Ja'Siah Turner was another key player, putting up eight points.

Austin Achieve dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Giddings will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Taylor at 7:45 p.m. on December 2. As for Austin Achieve, they will take on McDade at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
