Softball Recap: Liberty Finds Home Field Redemption Against Centennial

There's no place like home for Liberty, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Centennial Bulldogs on Monday. For the Patriots, this counts as revenge for the 5-1 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Charlotte Crittenden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on 13 hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Morgyn Vesco was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March.

Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 10-4-2. As for Centennial, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Liberty will be playing at home against Desert Oasis at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Centennial, they will head out to face off against Coronado at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
