Volleyball Recap: Lake Region Takes a Loss

Lake Region was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Ridge Community Bolts. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Bolts this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-0 defeat on Saturday.

Charlotte Williams paced Lake Region's offense, picking up four kills. Williams got some help from Yatnielis Medina Gonzalez and her 12 assists. Medina Gonzalez also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Aubrey Weymouth, each putting up two.

Among those leading the charge was Jianielix Rodriguez, who had 12 digs and three aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last 12 contests.

Lake Region's loss dropped their record down to 2-23. As for Ridge Community, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season.

Lake Region has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Haines City on the 9th. As for Ridge Community, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against New Dimensions on the 7th.
