Baseball Recap: Wheatland Beats Conway for Their Tenth Straight Victory

Wheatland put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Conway Bears. For the Mules, this counts as revenge for the 5-0 win the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Brett Dougherty was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Braden Sawyer, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Wheatland's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Conway, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Coming up, Wheatland will challenge El Dorado Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Conway, they will face off against Seymour at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
