Basketball Recap: Hoover Comes Up Short

After flying high against Madera last Friday, Hoover came back down to earth. The Hoover Patriots were outmatched by the Clovis East Timberwolves and fell 70-29. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 159th).

Hoover now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Clovis East, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 12-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoover will head out to face off against Fresno at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Clovis East, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Parlier at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Parlier will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Clovis East surely won't give up without a fight.
