Box Elder hadn't done well against Bear River recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bees came out on top against the Bears by a score of 56-49. This was payback for the Bees, who suffered a 69-46 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andy Anderson, who went 6-for-15 on his way to 16 points. Kaser Thurgood was another key player, shooting 50% from the field en route to 18 points.

Box Elder's record is now 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Box Elder will venture away from home to square off against Mountain Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bear River, they will head out to challenge Taylorsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
