Baseball Recap: Midway Finds Playoff Glory Versus Ayden - Grifton

Midway extended their postseason success on Friday against Ayden - Grifton. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Chargers a 3-0 shutout. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Wyatt Herring was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Herring wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Harry Johnson, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Johnson has posted since back in March.

Midway's record is now 20-7. As for Ayden - Grifton, they moved to 19-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Midway didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-0 victory against East Carteret on the 14th. Ayden - Grifton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
