Durham waltzed into their match on Tuesday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They strolled past the Pierce Bears with points to spare, taking the game 49-35. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Bears are ranked 1117th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Calvin Bair, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards. Another player making a difference was Gavin Guynn, who posted 14 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Durham pushed their record up to 22-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Pierce, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season.

Durham has already played their next contest (against Biggs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Pierce, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against East Nicolaus at 7:00 p.m. East Nicolaus will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Pierce surely won't give up without a fight.
